Green on Green

Hello,

It is hard to believe that today is 31st of January. This month just flew by. I am planning on doing Valentine's Day series, it just means that I will try to upload new Valentine's Day theme mani everyday or every other day.

For this, I applied 2 coats of Zoya Dree. Then using a fauxnad plate B25 (picture of the plate at bottom) I stamped the flowers using Sally Hansen Color Quick Fast Dry Nail Color Pen (that was a mouthful name) in shade Green Chrome. These pens are really good for stamping and are less messier than polishes. I stamped the big flower on the first two fingers and small flower on my pinkie (big flower was looking kinda awkward on pinkie). On my thumb and ring finger I stamped the whole design. I applied 2mm  and 1.5mm rhinestones on my ring finger.

The plate I used is similar to Konad M26.

Nicki Minaj Inspired Nails

Hello,

I did this nails for an OPI contest which finished last week. The theme of the contest was based on four Nicki Minaj dresses and the contestants have to choose one. I did not win in fact I got very few votes.
For this, I chose the Nicki Minaj's dress the one she wore for Victoria's Secret show. You can see the dress at the bottom of the page.

I started by applying 2 coats of Wet N Wild White Cream. After that I sponged my nails based on the colors of  her dress and drew other random figures from her dress. Just for little shimmer I added one coat of OPI's Heart of Gold. I chose her Victoria's Secret fashion show dress because it was full of colors and that's what I wanted on my nails too.

Essie Sand Tropez

Hello,

Essie Sand Tropez is a beautiful sandy nude beige color. This polish is perfect for interviews or for your workplace. It is part of the Essie Spring 2011 French Affair collection.

To be honest this color looks kind of boring in the bottle. I initially brought it because I was getting it at a really good price and moreover I did not have a similar color in my collection. When I applied Essie Sand Tropez for the first time I was overwhelmed with the subtleness of the polish. It is perfect for the days when you want to take a break from your glitters and bright colors. It is a cream finish that goes on opaque in two coats. It has become my favorite nude now as it gives my hand a very neat look.

Colorful Glass Pattern

Hello,

For this, I have seen so many people on youtube doing this type of nail art that it is difficult to give credit to one person. I do not know who originally came up with this idea but whosoever started it did an awesome job. It is a very easy design and you can play with any colors you like and it does not have to be perfect. As always, have fun with it.

Found my Candy Store!

Hello,

I wanted to post this haul earlier but never got a chance to post it. I was at home last month and was randomly searching for cheap nail polishes and came across a shop at San Jose which sells the nail polishes and nail products at a very good price. Frankly I was not expecting much as I had similar experiences like this in the past. I thought maybe some random polishes. When I entered the store I was overwhelmed with the quantity of polishes the store carried. They also have a lot of other nail relating stuff.

I know it is like a teaser for all the people not living in California Bay Area. The name of the shop is US Nail Supply and it is located in San Jose. They carry a lot of brands of polishes like OPI, Zoya, Essie, China Glaze, Orly, CND, Color Club, Seche Vite, Gelish and couple of other brands.

How much do they sell for?
Hold you breath...

OPI -> $4.25
Zoya -> $4
Essie -> $3.50
Orly -> $3.75
China Glaze -> $3 (If you buy 10 bottles then $2.75 per bottle)

They also had 32 Oz of Zoya Remove+ for $18 and 16 Oz of Posh Top coat and a lot of other good stuff.

These are some of the items I brought from them. I am definitely going back to this shop when I go to my parents home at the end of the semester.

Zoya Julieanne

Hello,

Today was my first day at campus. It was so hard waking up early in the morning after a long break. I am back in my apartment and already missing my family. I wish breaks could last forever :D. I will try to be more regular in updating posts now.

For this, I used Zoya Julieanne which is cool toned metallic purple. It has a dark blue-purple base with pink, yellow-green duochrome and pink being the most dominant duochrome. At some angles it looks like a dark purple base with pink sparkles. It is opaque in 2 coats but I used 3 thin costs to even it out.

Wild Flower!

Hello,

For this post, I saw something similar on eBay last week and it was an airbrush design with just one metallic color. I tried to look for the design so that I could provide the link but could not find it. This is a tutorial so you can follow the steps to achieve this nail art. As always, have fun with it.

Dots, Dots, and more Dots!

Hello,

I hope everyone had a beautiful New Years day. I had an awesome time with my family and I wish I could stay here longer. It's nice to be with family. For this mani, my sister-in-law painted her nails in Zoya Trixie and wanted some stamps on her nails. But for some reasons stamps were not working (kinda moody I guess). So I came up with this and you do not need much stuff for this simple and easy design.
FYI: These are my sister-in-law nails.

For this, she applied 2 coats of Zoya Trixie. It is a beautiful silver with foiled metallic finish. Then I used  the dotting tool and black acrylic paint (you can use black polish too) to make flowers. I made one flower in each finger except accent finger in which I made one big and two small flowers. Then with a fine brush and green acrylic paint I painted some leaves. On accent nail I added a silver rhinestone on the big flower.
